Buffalo Workers Comp Attorney: Janet Curry Esq.

Janet began her career as Judicial Assistant to Chief United States District Judge John T. Curtin after graduating from Niagara County Community College’s AAS Legal Secretarial program.  She was awarded the Erie County Bar Association’s Special Service Award in 2007.  Janet returned to Buffalo State College in the evening, graduating with a B.S. in Criminal Justice magna cum laude, and thereafter taking a lengthy hiatus from her studies while she and her husband raised their four children.

In 2010, Janet continued her professional journey at the State University of Buffalo Law School.  She graduated cum laude in 2015, and continued to work for Judge Curtin until his retirement in 2016.  She then taught at Medaille College and edited for Thomson Reuters.  Janet was admitted into practice in the State of New York in 2020, and is a member of the Erie County Bar Association.  She subsequently worked at Larimer Law as a Document Review Attorney and Legal Aid as a Public Defender.

A former half-marathon runner and all-around sports enthusiast, Janet currently enjoys playing pickleball.  She is a former long-time Lawyers for Learning tutor and serves as an Elder at her church.  She looks forward to the annual Ride for Roswell bike ride every June, raising funds with her “Gratwick Growlers” team for cancer research.  One of her favorite pastimes has included being an extra in three locally produced movies, including Marshall, starring the late Chadwick Boseman, Kate Hudson, and Sterling Brown—where she was able to return to Judge Curtin’s former courtroom, but this time acting as a courtroom spectator among famous movie actors!  Janet and her husband Mike are also enjoying every opportunity they can get to play with their first grandchild, Brooklyn Ann.
